I have current availability for new clients for in person or telehealth services. Reach out here.

Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Margee Quinn, LICSW, (she/they) therapist and business owner of Wise Mind Therapy, PLLC. From Seattle, I provide relational, trauma-informed, evidence-based psychotherapy to adult individuals across Washington state. As a queer therapist, I help people of marginalized genders and sexualities heal from difficult past experiences to live present, connected, and meaningful lives.

Before coming to therapy, many of my clients tell me:

  • Deep down, I don’t feel very good about myself.
  • My emotions make me feel overwhelmed- it sounds scary to talk about them with other people.
  • My past relationships are still really impacting me, and I want to understand why and how.
  • Setting boundaries with other people, especially family, can feel complicated.
  • Sometimes I have nightmares or flashbacks of difficult things I’ve been through.
  • Sometimes I feel really distant and far away from the present moment, lost in my head.
  • I think what I’ve been through is my fault, even if I “shouldn’t” think that.
  • I feel tense or stressed a lot of the time.

Many of my clients are:

  • People of marginalized genders- women (trans and cis), non binary people, and trans men.
  • People of marginalized sexualities- other LGBTQ+, polyamorous, non-monogamous, and/or kinky people.
  • People who have experienced challenges, trauma, and/or oppression in the context of their sexuality, gender, and relationships. This may have happened through unhealthy or abusive relationships, sexual assault, other unwanted sexual experiences, neglect, difficult parental relationships, religious trauma, and/or experiences of homophobia or transphobia.
  • People whose difficult past experiences have manifested as anxiety, perfectionism, PTSD, OCD, people pleasing, and/or intense self-criticism.

If that sounds like you, I really believe I can help. In therapy, I collaborate with you to untangle and understand what’s at the root of your suffering. Together, we figure out where you’re stuck, and then you gain new skills so that those same spots won’t be so sticky for you anymore. I use effective techniques that are supported by research, which means that the time and energy you invest into therapy will produce meaningful change in your life. And first and foremost, I show up as myself- I promise to be caring and present, and I also promise to be right there with you to challenge you when it’s needed.

After working with me, my clients tell me:

  • At the beginning of our work together, I really couldn’t have imagined I’d experience this much positive change.
  • I have more mental space now, far beyond only thinking about what was causing me pain.
  • I feel way less worried, I don’t feel on edge all the time anymore.
  • I feel much more present in my life.
  • My nightmares or flashbacks are gone.
  • When stressful things happen, I feel more able to handle them without spiraling.
  • I’ve learned new ways to interact with my thoughts and feelings- I have tools I can use for the rest of my life.
  • I feel way less overwhelmed.
