Individual Therapy

After you send in a contact form, you’ll hear back from me within one business day about scheduling your free 15 minute phone consultation. During our phone call, I’ll hear more about what’s bringing you to therapy and answer any questions you may have. Then, we’ll get your first appointment scheduled.

How could therapy help me?

Therapy can help you grow your understanding of yourself and increase your ability to take actions that align with your values.

“Wise Mind” is a concept from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) that honors the inherent wisdom we each possess. In “Wise Mind” there is room for both emotion and logic— both are honored and accounted for. You can access your “Wise Mind” with greater ease the more you get to know yourself.

By processing your experiences in a safe way with another person, you can begin to cultivate your own embodied sense of safety, wisdom, and calm. Within the safety of the therapeutic relationship, you can begin to make sense of your inner world and learn skills that will help you for the rest of your life.

Many of my clients are:

  • People whose difficult past experiences have manifested as anxiety, perfectionism, PTSD, OCD, people-pleasing, and/or intense self-criticism.
  • People of marginalized genders— women (trans and cis), non binary people, and trans men.
  • People of marginalized sexualities— other LGBTQ+, polyamorous, non-monogamous, and/or kinky people.
  • People who have experienced challenges, trauma, and/or oppression in the context of their sexuality, gender, and relationships. This may have happened through unhealthy or abusive relationships, sexual assault, other unwanted sexual experiences, neglect, difficult parental relationships, religious trauma, and/or experiences of homophobia or transphobia.

In individual therapy, I offer my clients:

  • Collaboration to untangle and understand what’s at the root of their suffering.
  • Support to figure out where they’re stuck, and skills so that those same spots won’t be so sticky for them anymore.
  • Effective techniques that are supported by research, so that the time and energy they invest produces meaningful change in their life.
  • Care and presence— I show up with authenticity, and am invested enough in my clients’ success to challenge them when it’s needed.

Individual Therapy Fees

Initial individual therapy sessions are 60 minutes long and charged at a rate of $230 per session unless other sliding scale arrangements are made.

Ongoing individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes long and charged at a rate of $200 per session unless other sliding scale arrangements are made.

Extended individual therapy sessions are 75 minutes long and charged at a rate of $290 per session.

Walk and Talk Therapy

In addition to meeting clients in person in my office, I offer walk and talk therapy at nearby Ravenna Park. Research has found that walking in nature offers many mental health benefits for various issues including anxiety, depression, and the winter blues.
